With the latest vulnerability being patched I was in need to deploy a windows update to a subset of computers running a certain windows “feature”. IIS. I was able to find out which servers were running IIS (with powershell, duh) and then exported this list to a .txt – From there I needed to get ~100 computers added to the collection I would then use configuration manager to deploy the update to. Simple enough, but saved tons of time by not having to add them manually.

Before I begin I’d like to credit Henry Hazot for the script. He goes into much more detail, so please check him out. You can find his blog here: https://tinyurl.com/polkeu8
